Preparing for Graduation

Congratulations on your graduation! Before the ceremony, be sure to:

  1. Attend the University Bookstore Graduation Fair

    1. For the Graduation Fair dates, visit the University Bookstore for the dates of the Graduation Fair each term.

  2. Purchase your Cap and Gown from the University Bookstore.

  3. Honors Cords (if applicable - check with your Academic Dean's Office)

  4. Order annuncements. Announcements can be ordered from C. B. Announcements.

  5. Review and update your permanent mailing address, if needed, on your Student Center in myZou (Your diploma will be mailed to this address approximately 12 to 14 weeks after graduation.)

  6. Review and update your local address, if needed, on your Student Center in myZou.

  7. Review your name on your Student Center in myZou. If your name needs to be changed for your diploma, please bring a legal form of ID ( Driver’s license, military Id, passport, certified copy of a marriage certificate or dissolution decree, federally recognized Indian tribe’s enrollment card or a U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs identification card) to the Office of Admissions, 230 Jesse Hall.

  8. Pay off your student account. Transcripts and Diplomas will not be released if you have any University financial obligation. You may view your finances in your Student Center in myZou.

  9. If you are participating in your school/college commencement ceremony, check with your Academic Unit if you need to RSVP for the ceremony and any final commencement ceremony details.

  10. Invite a mentor to the Honors Convocation, if applicable. Students who are eligible for the Honors Convocation will receive an e-mail invitation to their University e-mail account. If mentors are invited to the honors ceremony, please make sure they are in full academic regalia.

  11. Air horns and other loud noise makers are prohibited at commencement ceremonies.

  12. If you lose an item at one of the ceremonies, listed below is where that item will be turned into:

    1. Jesse Auditorium - Business Services, 311 Jesse Hall - 573-882-7254
    2. Hearnes's Center - Check at the reception desk at the south entrance of Mizzou Arena
    3. Mizzou Arena - Check at the reception desk at tht south entrance of Mizzou Arena
