When to Arrive
Exterior doors for Hearnes Center, Mizzou Arena and Jesse Hall will open one hour ahead of the ceremony. The doors to Jesse Auditorium will open 30 minutes prior to the ceremony.
It is highly recommended that graduates arrive no later than 30 minutes ahead of the ceremony.
Honors Medallions
Graduates who have earned an honors medallion may pick it up at the Mizzou Store in early May. Schools/colleges will notify those who are eligible.
General Information
Regalia
Participating graduates must wear academic regalia (cap and gown), which can be ordered from The Mizzou Store.
Lost Items
If you lost an item in Mizzou Arena or Hearnes Center, check with the reception desk at the south entrance of Mizzou Arena.
Prohibited Items
The following items are prohibited at all commencement ceremonies:
- Air horns and other artificial noisemakers
- Animals (except for assistive purposes)
- Bags and containers larger than 16″x18″x9″
- Banners/signs larger than 2’x 3′
- Cans and glass bottles
- Coolers (hard or soft sided)
- Firearms and weapons
- Laser lights
- Strollers
- Balloons
- Glitter
- Confetti
Rehearsal
Colleges and schools do not have graduation rehearsals.
Summer Commencement
MU does not host a summer commencement ceremony. Students completing a degree in August may be allowed to participate in May or December. Please contact your school or college to learn more about participation policies.
