Congratulations on your graduation! Before the big day, make sure you complete the following tasks.
- Submit your graduation application in myZou.
- Apply for the term you expect to complete your degree, even if that is different from when you’ll participate in a ceremony.
- Update your diploma name and address, if necessary, within the graduation application. Changes to your last name require a formal request and documentation.
- Graduates who have restricted release of their directory information can choose within the graduation application whether to be included in the Commencement program.
- Pay off any outstanding balance in myZou, including the $75 graduation fee (undergraduates only, beginning Spring 2022). Transcripts and diplomas will not be released until your balance is paid in full.
- Purchase your cap and gown at The Mizzou Store.
- Order your announcements from C.B. Announcements.
- Purchase graduation bouquets from Tiger Garden.
- Pre-register for your graduation ceremony photos with GradImages.
- Take the MU Outcomes Survey. Be on alert for emails the month prior to graduation which include links to the brief survey which asks about your post-graduation plans and your experience at the University of Missouri. We will use this information to enhance our services to better prepare our students for life after graduation.
- See the Mizzou Alumni Association to learn about opportunities for graduates and alumni.
- Doctoral students must successfully defend their dissertation in order to participate in commencement.
- If you live in a campus residence hall, you may stay in your current Residential Life assignment throughout commencement weekend. Contact Residential Life for more information.
